The Riu Palace Riviera Maya is situated on a white-sand beach in the Playacar complex, within one kilometer (half a mile) of the Playacar Golf Club and three kilometers (two miles) from downtown Playa del Carmen. Dining and entertainment options include six restaurants and five bars; room service is available for all meals, from 7 AM till 11 PM. An outdoor pool with sun terrace and chaise lounges has a spa tub and swim-up bar, while children have their own pool and playground, and a kids club offers daily activities for ages 4-12. An on-site fitness room has a spa tub and sauna, and the nearby Renova Spa offers massage, beauty services, and assorted body treatments (surcharge). A business center offers computer workstations (surcharge) and free wireless Internet access in the lobby.

The Riu Palace Riviera Maya’s 400 air-conditioned split-level Junior Suites all have balconies or patios, sitting areas, and jetted tubs. Amenities include flat-screen TVs with cable channels, replenished minibars and liquor dispensers, in-room safes, Italian designer bath amenities, bottled water, telephones, and ceiling fans.
